ITU-T Data Modem Standards

ITU V.32

The algorithm implemented is the ITU-T V.32 modem recommendation transmitting data at rates of up 9 600 bps. It is a Full-Duplex, Quadrature Amplitude Modulated (QAM) modem. V.32bis will optionally fall back to V.22bis, V.22, V.23 and V.21 according to Annex A of V.32bis, if the necessary modulators are installed.

V.32 and V.32bis operate at 2,400 symbols per second on a carrier frequency of 1,800 Hz, in both directions. Both V.32 and V.32bis use trellis encoding for all data rates, except 4 800 bps. V.32 also includes uncoded 9 600 bps.

This product has been developed and shipped by SIGNALS+SOFTWARE on a number of platforms previously, both standalone and as part of a complete solution, and would be available customized to meet specific requirements.
