Press Release - 1st June 2005

Signals+Software Limited today announced that it has completed a transaction to re-acquire all stock previously held by the Motorola Corporation in the company.

Motorola took a significant minority shareholding in Signals+Software in 1998 as part of a program to accelerate DSP application software development for the 56300, 56600 and StarCore (SC140) processors. This development programme resulted in Signals+Software’s products being successfully used in some 30 million mobile phone handsets, over five million GSM infrastructure channels and over 100,000 channels of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) (figures correct as of end 2004).

Speaking on behalf of the company, Dave Morley (Founder and CEO) said, “Global market changes since the collapse of technology stocks in 2000 have forced us to re-evaluate our position with regard to the overall DSP silicon market. The sale by Motorola of their Semiconductor Products Sector to form Freescale Semiconductor gave us the opportunity to return Signals+Software to an independent DSP software house.”

Signals+Software will continue to develop, sell and support embedded software for both Motorola and Freescale Semiconductor products but will now shift focus to the wider DSP software market space.
